November 14th, 2023

• School picture day! Please have your students wearing nice clothing and have them brush their teeth to show off their pearly whites on 14th! Additional details and ordering information will be available at a later date.

November 6th - 30th, 2023

• PVCS will be hosting a fall clothing drive. The goal of the clothing drive is to build up our school closet for students who need extra clothes during the school day/year. Please donate gently used or new clothing at the school.

October 17th, 2023

• We will be having our parent teacher conferences at the school from 3:30 until 7:30. Please sign up using the button!

July 25, 2023

• Our elementary teachers for the year are: Brooke Erickson (Kindergarten), Alisha Rafeal-Hernandez (1-2), Shelly Van Why (3-4), and Nichole Johnson (5-6).

• Our secondary teachers for the year are: Kaycee Sherger (Science), Cole Klubek (English Language Arts), Daniel Stevens (Social Studies), Tyler Lay (Agriculture Education), and Bryce Cushman (Math).

April 12, 2023

• After interviewing three excellent director candidates over the last couple of months, the Board is thrilled to announce Bryce Cushman as our PVCS School Director! Bryce joins our team with 12 years of teaching experience, ranging from rural to urban and alternative educational settings. He has a passion for students as well as our local community. Bryce shares,

I am excited about the opportunity to be a part of developing something cutting edge in Wyoming education. I believe it is important to have hands-on and practical skill development for students and feel passionate about teacher development. I look forward to partnering with the community and the PVCS staff to create a successful charter school.

• Our current focus is on building our staff. We have had a number of applicants and look forward to interviewing and beginning to offer positions. We are actively looking for secondary math applicants. In addition to our full-time teaching positions, we have now posted a couple of support staff positions, including an office manager/registrar, an instructional aide, and a paraprofessional.

February 20th, 2023

- The PVCS Auction & Fundraiser was a success! Thanks to the support of our local community, we raised over $9000 to help with starting costs. A HUGE thank to you Dean & Linda Webster for organizing the event, Lance & Lilly Nilson for hosting at their restaurant, Brian Jacobsen for auctioneering, Pioneer Road for providing the music, Carrie Hines & Terry Baker for organizing the bake sale, and the dozens of local businesses and individuals who donated auction items.

February 1st, 2023

- We’ve officially surpassed our minimum student count goal of 55 students!

- Our March 1st student count deadline is quickly approaching. (This number dictates the funding we will receive from the state for the 23-24 school year, although students can still register after this date). If you are interested in having your students attend, please fill out this form.

- Our contract with SLIB will be finalized and signed on 2/2

- We are officially accepting applications for teaching positions (There are openings for four elementary teachers, as well as secondary math, english, science, and social studies teachers)

- There will be a fundraising dinner and silent auction to benefit PVCS on February 18th at 6:30 pm at the Stampede Steakhouse in Chugwater.

September 14th, 2022:

Prairie View Community School was approved by the Wyoming State Land and Investment board!

It took many months of preparation to get to this point and we are overwhelmed by the support we’ve received at both the local and state level. This is an incredible opportunity for our students as well as Platte county. The board of directors is excited to get to work to ensure this is the best school it can be for our children and our community. More to come soon!
